The National Alliance for Filipino Concerns (NAFCON) appeals for donations for its Bayanihan Relief and Rehabilitation Program to provide immediate support for communities affected by the recent disasters in the Philippines and the United States.
Support communities affected by Typhoon Opong, Typhoon Nardo, and the Southwest Monsoon.
On Sept 26, nearly 120,000 families were forced to evacuate as floods, landslides, and storm surges hit. At least 13 lives were lost from Opong, on top of 14 deaths from Typhoon Nando just the week before.
Currently, at least 13 have been confirmed dead due to the disasters brought by Typhoon Opong. This is in addition to the at least 14 people from Typhoon Nando (Ragasa) in the previous week.
Agricultural losses reached nearly ₱915 million from over 78,000 metric tons of production lost, while infrastructure damage amounted to ₱822 million across multiple regions. Thirty-two cities and municipalities were forced to declare a state of calamity, with only 84,000 out of 122,800 affected families receiving limited aid worth about ₱58 million.
Join the efforts of NAFCON through the Bayanihan Disaster Response in directly supporting impacted communities by providing relief to local organizations and local communities.
Let us uplift the people-to-people response in responding to the needs of our kababayans even beyond typhoon relief and rehabilitation as local organizations and community members also aim to serve the overall issues in their own communities.
